A Rolling Baby Gathers Much Stuff

I fear that the day is coming soon when Baby L becomes mobile.  She has now mastered the art of rolling and is happily able to roll herself all around her playmats and the carpet and even on the bed, changing direction to get at toys (and electronics) that she wants.  My iPhone is constantly having to be relocated under threat of baby slobber.  Her semi-mobility also means that I have had to become hypervigilant when she's bed-sharing, to make sure that she doesn't topple over our extra-high bed to the very hard flooring.

Other recent developments:

*Baby L can now sit on her own, albeit for only a few seconds at a time.

*Her feet reach the foot rest (setting 1) on her Orbit stroller.

*She is no longer content to simply lie on the floor.  She now insists on sitting or standing (with help).  Great.

*She has figured out how to hit the surface of water to make a splash, and hit surfaces with her flat hand to make noises.

*In locating her voice, Baby L is experimenting with squealing *while* inhaling through her mouth.  It is the most disturbing sound ever; I keep wondering if she will hurt her throat or if she's unable to breathe.

*Baby L knows that she can see herself in the iPhone and prefers it to regular mirrors now.

*She is able to independently play in her crib for a few minutes - finally! So glad for this :)

*She really enjoys her exersaucer now, and can stay there for many minutes.

Where has my little wee baby gone? Despite my many complaints about lack of sleep, it is hard to believe that my little girl will soon be half a year old already, and the time really has gone by quickly.  I'm so glad to have been able to stay home for all of it, and look forward to continuing to be around to see every bit of progress and development that Baby Loquacious achieves.  #blessed!

Oh my sweet baby goodness! If I knew where you lived I'd be shipping you a frame for the incredibly cure photo! What a busy big girl she is, oh and super smart too!

Aww..thanks! She has a great smile and a generally happy disposition, which we are so blessed with. But the rolling...it is out of control! ;)
